Hello Scholar Academy community! My name is Eric Selfridge and I am so excited to be with you this school year! I look forward to learning with and from you as we study History and Social Studies concepts. I am originally from Kingsburg, California. It is a small agricultural town within the Central Valley and home to Sun-Maid Raisins. While the majority of my family still live in California, I have lived in Utah for the last 8 years and love it! Since living in Utah, I met my wife and we have been married most of those years here in Utah. We have two beautiful daughters, my oldest is also a student here at Scholar Academy. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Utah Valley University in History & Social Studies Education. Additionally, I earned an Associates degree from Utah Valley University in Humanities & Social Sciences. When I am not in the classroom you will most likely find me drinking a nice cold Dr. Pepper and watching old tv show reruns, true crime shows, building LEGO sets with my girls or reading a non-fiction genre book. I enjoy travelling to new places, some of my favorite places that I have been to are Pearl Harbor, Gettysburg and Disneyland. In the future I would love to make it to Washington D.C. and explore all that is there.

Hello! My name is Shannon Proctor and I am so excited to be part of the wonderful Scholar Academy team. I have always wanted to be a teacher and I have a passion for working with the young people in our community. It is my goal to help my students become math scholars, to guide them to think critically and to persevere in problem solving. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Teaching from the University of Utah. I did not begin teaching right away and instead spent ten years in retail management where I found hundreds of real life applications of the math I wanted to teach. I married my high school sweetheart and together we have two boys who attend Scholar Academy. I have a variety of hobbies including reading, sewing, camping, running, yoga, baking, and Netflix binging. I love math and science and technology and Doctor Who and Harry Potter. Im a self-proclaimed nerd and proud of it! I hope to bring out the inner nerd in each of my students this year at Scholar Academy.

Hello, I am Mrs. Spencer. I have my dream job! This will be my second year as the 7th grade College and Career Awareness teacher. My hope is to help our students figure out their dream jobs and what they need to make that a reality. I graduated from BYU with a Bachelors of Science in Family Life and Home Economics in 2002. For me, cooking and sewing is relaxing. I also find joy in documenting life through pictures and stories. I spend my free time compiling pictures and writing stories for family history books. My greatest adventure is being a wife and a mother of 2 children. My favorite time at Scholar Academy has been as a volunteer in my children’s homeroom classes.
